A granite medallion, which is 16 feet in diameter, welcomes visitors to the campus, to be named the Danforth Campus in honor of Chancellor Emeritus William H. Danforth, his late wife, Elizabeth (Ibby) Gray Danforth, the Danforth family and the Danforth Foundation in a Sept. 17 ceremony. The Danforth Plaza includes a fountain, new landscaping, benches and bronze plaques that recognize their contributions to the University.
